Benetton, My Baby

We came home late from Saturday’s outing with friends. Benetton did not come greet us at the door like he always does. I thought he must have been asleep already, so I went upstairs to check on him, only to find him having a seizure-like reaction, shivering and panting like crazy. We rushed him to the emergency animal clinic. The vet thought he dislocated the kneecap of his left back leg, and the pain explained the panting and shaking.

He was given a shot of painkiller and will need to take Metacam orally for the next couple days. He still limped a little bit yesterday when he walked, but this morning, he seemed to be doing much better. Hopefully, we will know more when we take him back to his vet for the follow-up.

This incident made me realize how important he is to me. He really is, like my baby. I can understand now why some people treat their pets like their children because I would totally do the same.

OMG! That must have been terrifying. It’s really hard to see those we love in pain. I’m so glad he’s okay though. Please give him a hug and kiss from me.
