August Olympics
Filed in Ramblings, August 14, 2008, 1:56 pmThis is regarding the age controversy over China’s gold medal gymnasts.
I am a United States citizen and am of Taiwanese/Chinese ethnicity. I am not on either side and am happy to see either country win the gold. But seriously, U.S. sports writers need to shut up and stop expressing sour grapes in their columns. It should fall on the FIG and IOC’s plate, and they are the ones to blamed if they do fail to investigate the problem and take responsibility. The last thing we want for the Americans to learn is being a sore loser!
On another note, “Golden Boy” Michael Phelps has been keeping me awake at night, so I can watch him break the records again and again. I can’t wait for the moment that he snatches all 8 gold medals! He is said to come back to Maryland after the game. I am plotting to chase him down!
My July Flies!
Filed in Ramblings, July 13, 2008, 10:11 amOkay…the laziness has to cease, and I need to get back on updating more frequently. I cannot believe it is almost mid-July, time flies! With all three campaigns up and running, work is crazy since the beginning of 2008. Everyday, it is like a battlefield at work, and I have to be 100% prepared, both mentally and physically.
Cwis came for the holiday weekend, but I had to work on July 4th for pretty much the whole day, therefore, we didn’t get to go anywhere or do anything festive. To make up our July 4th holiday, Ben arranged a one-day fun in D.C.! We first went to Old Ebbitt Grill for brunch. Its Victorian decor impressed me tremendously, except for I wouldn’t want a whole bunch of “hunting trophies” hanging up on every corner of my house.
Afterwards, we strolled around The White House and then cruised to Georgetown to get some yummy cakecups and gelato/sorbetto. In the evening, Ben took us to his favorite tapas restaurant called La Tasca, where he and Cwis finished a big pitcher of sangria and each of us had 3 plates of tapas! I had so much fun!
Before I know it, it will be August soon, and by then there will be more for Ben and I to look forward to. Every day is a brand new day and we need to live ourlives to the fullest!
Dating
Filed in Ramblings, June 11, 2008, 9:40 amThis past Saturday, Ben and I both got a summer haircut because the temperature has been on a ridiculous rise, just like the gas price. Since we already made it out to Georgetown, we trotted around in the area afterwards. Walking in the extreme heat was not fun, but it kind of brought me back in the good ol’ days when we first met on the “hot island”, and when we just started dating.
Just thinking about our “no work, all fun” days makes me want to hold him really tight and squeeze him really hard! I still enjoy all the time I have with him very much, but with both of us working now. it is just difficult to have quality time on a regular basis. I guess working does wear a person off. That being said, I shall focus on my work now and start planning our next vacation! ![]()
Update: Ecstatic for Sex And The City
Filed in Movie, NewsFlash, May 29, 2008, 5:50 pmLast Friday, I watched Sex And The City: The Movie, but did not get to blog about it until now. Thanks Baobieboo for going to the movie with me and for getting the tickets early for us. The later shows of the night were all sold out!
I enjoyed every second of the movie and thought it is the best movie of the summer so far! I heard they are already talking about filming a sequel, how exciting! I talked Will into taking Amy to see it, and guess what? A big man like Will didn’t hate the movie! Not to mention that Amy was over-the-top happy about the fact that she got to watch it with her hubby.
There was also a book coming out on the same day the movie debuted. I want to get it, but it will need to wait because I just spent lots of money on semi-annual sales…
